Lithuanian Hound
The rare Lithuanian Hound is a hunting dog breed native to Lithuania. Dog breeds in lithuania originated in the 15th to 16th century, these breeds have descended from Bloodhounds and are treasured in Lithuania. Lithuanian Hound is tenacious, alert and brave by nature and is used in hunting of foxes, rabbits and boars.
This scenthound is a beloved companion and is wary of strangers thus making them good watchdogs. It requires daily exercise, activities , proper training and early socialisation. Easy to groom, Lithuanian Hound has short-haired coats of black-tan shades, floppy ears, long slim tail and features a sturdy build. These medium-sized hounds have a life of 12-14 years and are prone to hip-dysplasia and bloat.
